OCT 27, 2024 // RØRENDE HAIER (LAST VERSE RE-WRITE, ROUGH MIX)

OSLO, NORWAY

Our friend Sleepy Todd gave me a bunch of samples to use in recording projects. One was this strange 1950s television show child talking a nursery rhyme. Eric created an arrangement from the loop playing bass, guitar, and programming a drum machine. I learned to play it on guitar and wrote the words remembering a profound fork in the road experience I had in Oslo just before arriving in Michigan. We recorded the original instrument and vocal tracks in Michigan in 2017 the same time we were recording Skulls. Jason and I have been trying to finish the project of which this song is a part starting around 2022. Jason added some piano and percussion which is nice. The problem with this one though, was that the last verse had some lyrics that weren’t very good. Here is my version with the end of the last verse rewritten. I re-did all the lead vocals to have a consistent take.

I’M WALKING THROUGH A GRAVE YARD, YOU’RE SLEEPING BY A TRACK MEET AND THIS IS THE GRAVEYARD I WALKED THROUGH

💀
-I rewrote the back end of the last verse.
-I re-recorded all the lead vox.

I like it better this way and from my present perspective it’s ready to go. We will want to evaluate the lead vocal comp and do mixing and editing. I think it’s nearly done though. Let me know and thank you.
