RØRENDE HAIER

I watched you smoking by the window
Searching all of summer time to wind up at this smoke show
We walked across the whole of Oslo
While I tried and failed to find the places where you won’t go
We talked about our family I’ve got a broken shoulder
Remember when you told me I like growing older
No one ever catches me  I wish I could go slower
there’s something you can sew for me
it’s cold here in October

Now  the sun shines all the time you can’t imagine winter
I didn’t know that I was lost until we crossed the river

I left you early in the morning now I’m half way back to my old home in California
You said love’s a straight line and I said it’s blinking light
We could put a cat inside a box and try to see who’s right
trouble is that point of view is only who you’re looking through
can you see what I can see when i am looking back at you
Maybe  I don’t want to know and then we’ll never know
I can see your features though glowing from my open boat
faraway from any shore hoping to fall overboard
Let got captain let it happen

You told me I don’t need to leave, but I don’t know what you believe
I’m walking through a graveyard  You’re sleeping by a track meet
You know we both got left alone, and left alone
If I don’t tell you, You won’t see, I’ve got nowhere else to be
And time won’t bring you back to me

Now the sun shines all the time you can’t imagine winter
i didn’t know that I was lost until we crossed the river
