THE SEA RANCH, CALIFORNIA
💀
-The guitar tone and part reveal a recognizable character.
-A movie projected in miniature, translucent, three dimensions with one of those handheld toys that cost lots of money and are only available in Japan. These are the technological next step of the American 1980s toy called “The Viewmaster.”
✞
-Are some of the backing vox too misaligned and messy?
-The song attempts to paint a place that was peculiar, dangerous, and full of natural beauty. I saw a kid many nights in the ocean floating next to me waiting for the last wave of the evening in near darkness wearing a sequined Mexican wrestling mask reflecting the purple sunset and the silver moonrise. We each walked our own way home down the same dirt road that was main street to the tiny town. I thought he was very funny. How can we describe this place with music? What will be helpful is to work as if we are composing a score for the movie of that place in time.
-What would John Waters do? Who’s revenge takes the form of a hidden jewel on the shelf of a 1994 video store in a conservative, horse blinders town.
-The cost effective set of a ghost story, where very little needs recreating in post production, isn’t safe for foolish people. They will be made blood sacrifice.
-Refuge and respect for criminals, and the mentally ill is found here.
