HERE IS A MURAL ON THE WALL OF A HOUSE IN THE SMALL TOWN I WAS LIVING WHEN I WAS WORKING ON THIS MUSIC. I WALKED PAST THIS HOUSE NEARLY EVERY DAY ON THE WAY TO THE BEACH.
This is the first building block of the song. I took an iPhone recording I made of myself playing the drums while listening to Shabba Ranks on headphones and made a loop out of it. The weather is fairly hot here and I’m glad I was able to learn this new skill. I like how there were lizards and loud bird and insect sounds and dogs barking at all hours. Sometimes I wonder if I should have stayed down there but who knows who’s driving this spaceship. You know?
